Fraudsters swindled the corporation’s CEO out of tens of millions of rubles

The criminals swindled 62 million rubles from the CEO of the corporation MAK Vympel Alexander Rakhmanov, REN TV reports, citing a source. They introduced themselves as employees of the FSB and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, after which they stated that his funds were in danger.

The victim also gave away a gold watch and coins, which in total are valued at approximately 15 million. The total damage amounted to 62 million, the fraudsters transferred the money into bitcoin , the report says .

According to the channel, the perpetrators were detained; they turned out to be three unemployed residents of Novosibirsk. A criminal case was opened against the swindlers.

Earlier it became known that a resident of Tatarstan almost became a victim of a fraudster who introduced herself as her dead mother . The girl did not believe her at first, but the caller convinced her that scientists had invented a system in a temple under the mountain in Tibet, with the help of which communication between the two worlds became possible. The girl rushed to her husband with the good news, but the man was able to explain that such a system does not exist.

Previously, the Telegram channel Mash reported that scammers had defrauded director Nikita Mikhalkov’s assistant Natalia Semina of 250 thousand rubles. According to the channel, the criminals acted according to the same scenario as in the cases of artist Nikas Safronov and writer Edward Radzinsky – they introduced themselves as Wikipedia employees.
